EMDR
Evidence-based therapy for trauma and distressing experiences
I specialize in supporting people who have experienced trauma or distressing events. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps you process traumatic experiences, distressing memories or feelings, and can also support anxiety, depression, grief, or other overwhelming experiences—often without having to go into detail about the event.
Trauma can affect the brain by creating strong, stuck connections between memories and intense emotions. These patterns can make it difficult to move through distressing experiences or regulate emotions. EMDR works with the brain's natural ability to process information, helping to recalibrate these responses so that memories and feelings lose their intensity over time.
EMDR can be particularly helpful for:
Trauma and PTSD
Anxiety, stress and depression
Phobias and panic disorders
Grief and other overwhelming experiences

How EMDR Works
During EMDR sessions, we'll use bilateral stimulation through eye movements, sounds, or gentle tapping. This process helps you safely work through difficult feelings and memories, supporting your brain's natural ability to heal.
I'm trained to provide EMDR in a safe and supportive way and have received specialized training in delivering EMDR through both in-person and secure virtual sessions, allowing you to choose the format that works best for you. Together, we'll move at your pace to support healing and growth.
"Our brains are wired for connection; trauma rewires them for protection. Healing rewires them for connection again."
